Elon Musk wrote on Twitter and then removed the anti-vaccine cartoonist Bill Bill Gates. This is where their dramatic controversy began and how it escalated into the middle of the epidemic.

The Elon Musk-Bill Gates controversy began in early 2020 when Gates commented on electric vehicles.
The two promoters seem to disagree fundamentally with the coronavirus as well.

Bill Gates and Elon Musk do not see eye to eye.

While the rich Microsoft and Tesla and the SpaceX titan have never had a particularly comfortable relationship, things have escalated over the past year as the two have openly talked about everything from electric cars to coronavirus.

The two greats are among the richest in the world, eliminated only by Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos. While their public conflict may not always be so bad, they seem to disagree fundamentally with the coronavirus - and as major players in antiretroviral therapy and immunosuppression, their conflict is heavier.

This is where the conflict between Gates and Musk began with what has happened since then.

In February 2020, Gates in an interview with YouTuber Marques Brownlee said that while Tesla was helping new driving and adopting electric vehicles, he recently bought a Porsche Taycan.

Gates' comments were not received by Musk, who wrote on Twitter that his conversations with Gates had been "not going well."

But things got even more hot in July when Gates disputed Musk's comments about the coronavirus epidemic.

In an interview with CNBC's "Squawk Box", "Gates criticized Musk's comments about the virus and pointed out that Musk should not be talking about the epidemic at all.

"Elon's place to keep the standards is very high," Gates said. "He doesn't get too involved in vaccines. He makes a good electric car. And his rockets work well. So he's allowed to say these things. I hope he doesn't confuse areas where he's not very involved."

Gates and Musk are involved in the fight against coronavirus, and Gates promises $ 100 million to fight the virus through the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and Musk redirecting Tesla's resources to acquire and produce respiratory equipment and meet with German biotech company CureVac - where Gates is an investor - which will assist in the production of vaccines.

But since last March, Musk has been underestimating the magnitude of the virus and strongly criticized home-based orders. He promoted hydroxychloroquine malaria as a treatment for the virus, falsely claimed that children were not infected, and questioned the details of coronavirus mortality.

Musk also said that last year there would be "zero new cases" by the end of April 2020. The death toll in the US alone has just exceeded 500,000.

The comments shocked Musk, who mocked Gates on Twitter.

Musk jokingly sent several tweets about Gates, including "Billy G is not my fan" and "Rumors that Bill Gates & Me are not lovers are completely untrue."

In September, Musk wrote on Twitter that Gates was "unaware" of the electric trucks.

In August, Gates wrote a blog post about electric cars that ask if it is possible to make 18-wheel-drive vehicles completely electric.

Although he did not name Tesla, the company is still producing.

A few weeks later, a Twitter user asked Musk for his opinion on Gates' views, and Musk replied, "He doesn't know at all."

During a podcast interview published in September, The New York Times' Kara Swisher asked Musk about his feelings about the virus, including whether he planned to vaccinate.

Musk defended Gates' comments, saying he spent time with Harvard University epidemiologists "doing antibody studies" and saw Tesla's work with CureVac.

"Gates said something about me not knowing what I was doing," Musk told Swisher. "It's like, 'Hey, knucklehead, we're actually making CureVac vaccines, the company you're invested in.'"

In November, Musk surpassed Gates as the world's second richest man.

Since then, he and Jeff Bezos have emerged as the world's richest men. His total value stands at $ 175 billion, according to Bloomberg's Billionaires Index.

Gates recently made a jab at Musk's focus on rockets, but also gave him an unusual compliment.

When he appeared in a Kara Swisher "Sway" podcast in February, Gates said he had no interest in investing in space projects like fellow billionaire Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk.

"No, I'm not from Mars. I know a lot of Mars people," Gates said. "I don't think rockets are a solution. But maybe I'm missing something there."

He went on to say that he would rather spend his money on vaccines here on Earth than in space travel.

But Gates has issued an extraordinary compliment to Musk, calling what Musk has achieved with Tesla "one of the biggest contributions to climate change anyone has ever made."

"Looking down on Elon is not a good idea," he said.

The gates are also opposed to the mania surrounding cryptocurrensets.
